Unbleached paper filters with a draw string. Measures 10.5 cm x 8.5 cm…large enough for some bulkier loose leaf teas, and good for a cup or large mug. Chlorine-Free and compostable. 50/box.
Organic Matcha Kawane 30g
Full-bodied and smooth with slight herb notes and a bright, rich green colour. From younger tea plants (generally under 30 years old) this is best for a thinner (Usucha grade) Matcha brewed with more water and less tea, where vigorous whisking produces the characteristic frothy head and resulting crema. From the Kawane region, located in Japan’s most important cultivation area Shizuoka, where the very finest Tencha is produced in the spring from the cultivars Yabukita and Okumidori. Strange things are happening in that island paradise, and the Admiral’s life is on the line as he pursues a powerful conspiracy that spans the gates of time itself! Many of you will know Admiral Grey and the associated teas that Tea Trader supplies. The original tea was launched in 1995 and Eight Bells, Taeping and Cedarberg Sunrise followed. At that time, we put a story behind this character and this was carried further by one of our earliest customers, Bob Newell. We talked with him over the years about a more complete story built around this character. Doke Green Diamond
This year’s Doke Green Diamond feels pulled from the damp forest floor; mossy and nutty with an astringent pop that almost hides a slightly creamy note in the finish. Best keep this one to shorter infusions! Doke Tea Estate is located on the Doke River, in the Bihar District of northeast India, near the border of Nepal.
